Weekly Dance and Drum Classes
Dance Classes are at the Blue Cafe in downtown Long Beach located at 210 The Promenade North.
All Classes are from 7 - 8:30 PM:
- TUESDAYS (all):
Beginning and Intermediate Samba Dance Class
- WEDNESDAYS (all):
Advanced Samba Dance Class
Drum Classes are in two different locations and alternate weekly:
- TUESDAYS (1st and 3rd):
Samba Drum Class with Carlinhos do Pandeiro at the 18th Streets Arts Center at 1639 18th Street, from 7:30 - 9 pm, Tel: 310/453.3711
- THURSDAYS (2nd and 4th):
Afro-Brazilian Drum Class with Kirk Brundage at Motherland Music at 2921 La Cienega Blvd
Culver City from 7:00 - 8:30 pm

Brazilian Couple Dancing
You go to SambaLá and see Brazilians dancing as couples and now you want to learn! SambaLá will teach you! Learn how to dance the Pagode (slow couple samba dancing), Forrô (Brazilian Country Dancing - hot in Brazil), and of the course the forbidden dance the Lambada.

Teaching in Schools
SambaLá also teaches classes in elementary schools. For the 2000-2001, SambaLá was chosen and paid to give classes by the Public Corporations of the Arts, and the Museum of Latin American Art in Long Beach to elementary school kids.
